la buvette, Paris.

As always, I have my list of to-go bars & cafes when I travel. This place is one of them, Parisian natural wine bar, La Buvette created by Camille Fourmont who from my research worked at a fancy Parisian restaurant (love the gastronomy industry but not a name-dropper.). I can’t remember how I discovered this unique place, but I do know Instgram had something to do with it! Fortunately, I was visiting Paris in April & I had the chance to it check out. Located in the Saint Ambroise area of Paris, this fresh aired space with beautifully distressed walls, mosaic-tiled floors, vintage mirrors, a simple wooden bar & vintage chairs, serves artisanal cheeses & a nice selection of natural wines, you can also pop in for taking away bottles. The space is intimate & humble, so much so that as the lone diner I was, there happened to be 2 awesome ladies, one who is an apprentice sommelier at LA’s Helen’s Wines & the other, a pastry chef at sister place Jon & Vinny’s, it was truly such a kismet experience to share with fellow appreciators of ‘real food & wine ‘. La Buvette is simple, charismatic good conversation & you can feel the intention, which I feel is like you’ve gone over to your friend’s place for a catch up over a glass a wine. Sorry but I can’t remember what I drank, but the cute server did meet my taste bud needs of fresh, aromatic, light & a feeling that I was sitting in the French woods, on a picnic rug by a campfire as the sun was setting vibe of wine. Whilst the natural wines were wonderful, the cheeses I had were incredible, never tasted anything like it tbh, I can still remember the texture of the creamy black peppered cheese. All-round quality, me encanto! I was so delighted to be able to experience this place after dreaming about through Instagram, but really the use of space is a real brain expander. I think that for people who ‘dream’ of opening their own cafe or bar or restaurant or bakery or whatever!… Paris has some magnificent places like La Buvette where the creativity with the use of space is inspiring & it displays a true meaning keeping it simple & smart. So my readers, if you’re in grand old Paris, make the time to visit this simple natural wine bar with good cheese buzz, you will not regret it! Enjoy xxo
